Coping with Difficult Situations?
Page 44: Basketball quickly becomes a getaway for Wes and his friends. What activities do you enjoy doing while trying to cope with difficult situations?
In the other wes moore Wes and his friends use basketball quickly and it becomes a getaway for them. When reading this I thought about all the activities I have enjoyed while trying to cope with difficult situations. I was blessed with one of my best furry friends a little over a year ago and now love going on long walks. There's something amazing about walking outside into the fresh air with my favorite companion. Watching my dog joyously explore the world around us encourages me to live in the present now and discover beauty in the smallest details.
Music and podcasted have always provided comfort for me. Music has a marvelous ability to create emotions and bring comfort, whether it's calming melodies to relax the mind or uplifting tracks to elevate the spirits. I've recently started listening to podcasts a couple years ago, and my current favorites are "Black Girl Flow" and "On Purpose with Jay Shetty." These podcasts provide insights, inspiration, and viewpoints that I find very meaningful, offering vital direction during difficult times. It's very uplifting and a great reminder that I am going to be fine at that moment.
Taking the time out to journal Being able to express my ideas, emotions, and insights has been really beneficial. Journaling enables me to express my emotions, achieve clarity, and keep track of my own development. It's a secure place where I can be honest with myself and explore my deepest ideas without being judged. Finally, I would say Cooking came up as a fresh interest for me, providing both a therapeutic getaway and a creative outlet. Experimenting with different ingredients, tastes, and recipes not only quenches my culinary curiosity, but also gives me a sense of success and delight. The act of chopping, sautéing, and tasting helps me to completely immerse myself in the current moment, leaving anxieties behind and focusing on the work at hand.
Being in challenging situations isn't the greatest and is constantly reflected back on the way you respond and handle your emotions. Finding solutions that may help you calm down and put you back in the mood you want to be in shows and helps in a different light.
